1. Registration
KCM provides bus services to and from Glenealy School. Parents should make direct arrangements with KCM for their child to travel on the bus.
To check the current bus fare and complete your bus registration, please follow the instructions provided on the online registration site: https://school.kcm.com.hk/gjs/
The bus service registration should be completed by the deadline set, allowing ample planning time should any routing modification be necessary.
Once registration is confirmed, please inform the school and keep the school updated if your child ceases using the service.
2. Communication of Travel Changes in Advance
If your child’s travel arrangements change and you are aware of this in advance, please use the ESF APP to communicate this.
Once your child is enrolled on the bus, you can communicate with the bus company through the bus button on the ESF APP until 12pm on the day of travel.
3. Communication of Last-Minute Travel Changes
If you need to make last-minute alternative arrangements after 12pm on the day, please email the bus company via the ESF App Bus Button and phone the school office at 2522 1919 to ensure the message has been received by both the school and the bus company.
4. Communication of Travel Changes Due to After-School Activities
When your child is enrolled in an outside provider extracurricular activity and will not be travelling on the bus home at the end of the day, please inform the bus company using the bus button on the ESF App.
Please provide the name of the activity and the dates that the ECA will start and finish. It must be done before the ECA starting date and if there are any changes to the day or time of the ECA.
If your child’s attendance at an outsider provider ECA and travel arrangements change, please follow the protocol outlined in points 2 and 3 above.
This does not apply to Glenealy Run ECAs, as the school will coordinate with the bus company.
5. Communication of Absence from School
When your child is absent from school, please also inform the bus company via the ESF App Bus Button when contacting the school. This applies when your child is sent home sick from school or taking an extended holiday.
6. After School Events
If your child usually takes the bus but stays at school for an after-school event—such as a PTA Bake Sale or school performance—please notify the bus company using the ESF app. Follow the instructions outlined in points 2 and 3 above. It is important to remember that any last-minute changes to the bus arrangements made after 12 p.m. must be communicated by phone to the school and via the bus button on the ESF App to ensure the message is received by both the school and the bus company.
7. Seat Belts
For safety purposes, children must wear seat belts when riding the bus. The bus mother will tell them to do so when they get on the bus. However, we would be grateful if parents regularly reminded their children about the importance of wearing a seat belt.
8. Changes to Bus Routes
Please note that the Bus Company may have to modify specific routes and pick-up times after the new school term starts in August, according to the demands received. Bus users will be notified of any changes that are involved.
9. Friends of Current Bus Users - Playdate Arrangements
If a child who is not a bus user wants to travel on a bus with a friend who is a bus user, both sets of parents are asked to contact the bus company via gjs@kcm.com.hk or call 3193 9370. Please note that additional riders will be charged when room is available on the bus. It would be appreciated if you could arrange your child’s play date at least three working days in advance, allowing enough time for such an arrangement. It is also important to inform each child’s class teacher.
Please note that it may not be possible to provide a seat on a bus, and parents should not presume that one will be available.
Please note the protocols for the following situations:
1. The student has missed the school bus:
The student will be supervised at school in the office until their designated adult can collect them.
2. The student has taken the bus by mistake:
The child will remain on the bus and be returned to school unless alternative arrangements are negotiated between the bus company and the parents.
