At Glenealy School we believe that outdoor education is vital for holistic development. Our philosophy emphasises connecting with the local environment, and learning from and through our locality. Through various outdoor activities, trips and camps, we provide students with opportunities to explore nature, learn about our locality, and appreciate the world around them.
Our taught curriculum includes regular excursions that immerse students in diverse natural and man-made settings. This allows them to gain hands-on experiences that complement their classroom learning. These activities promote critical thinking, collaboration, and communication—essential skills that prepare students for future challenges. Whether it's exploring nearby parks, visiting local museums, or participating in community projects, our students engage with all that Hong Kong has to offer in meaningful ways.

Additionally, our school features dedicated student created gardening areas where students cultivate plants, learn about sustainability, and understand the importance of biodiversity. These spaces encourage collaboration, creativity, and a deeper connection to the earth, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing responsible and environmentally aware individuals. At Glenealy, we are proud to offer rich outdoor education experiences that help prepare students for a lifelong journey of exploration and learning.
Camps
At Glenealy School, we believe that outdoor education provides opportunities to develop positive relationships with the environment, others and ourselves through interaction with the natural world. These relationships are essential for the wellbeing and sustainability of individuals, society and our environment.

Our school camps programme provides a range of adventurous camps where children can be challenged to try new experiences. It is instrumental in the teaching of self reliance, interdependence and leadership. Through challenges experienced on camp, our students learn to manage personal risks, develop positive relationships with the environment and the value of life-long outdoor recreation for enjoyment, health and well-being. Through this learning, our students become more confident, motivated and capable leaders. Students develop collaborative skills and their teamwork abilities as they face a range of challenges which build upon their prior experience.
