Our pedagogical practices are used to engage children in exploring the environment around them, make connections to their world and encourage them to take action.
Our curriculum is designed to be personalised, relevant and meaningful to all children. Offering appropriate challenges whilst supporting all students' academic, social, physical and emotional needs. We draw upon the latest research, technology and the expertise of a highly qualified teaching staff, including specialist teachers, to enrich the curriculum.
As an IB World School, the Primary Years Programme (PYP) is our curriculum framework. This enables us to develop a curriculum that is relevant and meaningful to our international community, embracing global citizenship. The inquiry-based approach we use ensures that our students not only achieve strong academic results but also understand themselves as a learner, developing the transferable skills, conceptual understandings, capabilities and learning attitudes that will equip them at school and in the future and grow their love of learning.
Learning Pathway
The majority of our Year 6 students will move on to ESF Island School, located on Borrett Road which is only a short distance away from ESF Glenealy School.
These two schools share a close connection and collaborate closely. Students have chances to visit, participate in educational activities, and meet the secondary teaching staff before they embark on their important journey to secondary school.
Learning Technology
Glenealy School, as a modern digital school, prioritises carefully selecting and promoting high-quality learning technologies and digital systems for its community. Students are encouraged to become responsible global digital citizens through an inclusive curriculum that enhances their digital knowledge, skills, and competencies. The school provides a secure environment where students can use technology to create content, fostering essential skills and mindsets for active participation in the digital landscape.
One of our school's goals is to ensure fair access and opportunities for emerging technologies and digital resources, enabling transformative teaching and learning experiences. This includes preparing students to understand and use AI in a safe and productive manner, promoting their growth and development within the digital realm.

Our approach emphasises collaboration, connectivity, and ongoing learning that extends beyond traditional school boundaries. The curriculum embraces digital-age learning with a specific focus on integrating AI. The staff digital theme group at Glenealy School curates a variety of accessible technologies, supporting students in enhancing their coding skills, engaging with Virtual Reality experiences, developing digital design proficiency, exploring electronics, and understanding the implications of AI in education.
Students actively learn to utilise these technologies alongside STEAM education, gradually applying their knowledge to problem-solving and innovation.
