🏮 Huge thanks to our amazing PTA and all the parents for their incredible support in organising our vibrant Chinese New Year marketplace! 🌟 From delicious treats to creative arts and crafts, you helped us embrace the spirit of the celebrations ahead! 🏮
🌟 Our Chinese New Year celebrations began with our Year 6 pantomimes, and our students shone 🤩 Their resilience, teamwork, and joy reflected the wellbeing practices we nurture every day—lifting each other’s voices and stepping with empathy into one another’s stories. 🌟
What a fantastic time our Y1 & Y2 students had at their games mornings sharing what they have been learning in their PE lessons with their parents. Great work!
Talk About it Thursday: The 6, 7 Remix!
Families, you've likely heard you child saying "6, 7" this morning and will hear it again this afternoon. At Glenealy we love to take what is trending and find the big ideas hidden inside.
THE CHALLENGE: Can your family reach the target number of 100?
THE RULES: -You must use all of the numbers around our target number (four 6s and four 7s). -You can only use each number once. -Use any operation as many times as you like (+, -, ×, ÷ and even brackets).
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: -Gather your family, this is a collaborative task. -Gather your tools; pens, paper, concrete materials etc. -Embrace the struggle - parents this is particularly important. Resist the urge to give an answer, instead we can say, "what other way can you show me?" "have you thought about..." "what would happen if you tried..." etc -Take action: Once you have reached the target, or gotten as close as you can, please ask your child to bring their workings to Mr Fahy's classroom at 6F. We want to see the thoughts, not just the answer.
If you would like to post a picture of your workings out in the comments section below please do so.
How many ways can we get to 100?
A huge round of applause to all our runners who competed on Sunday morning at the annual CIS road race. You all ran well and did us proud!
Our Wellbeing Wednesday was full of joy! Y4–6 danced at our Disco, Y1–3 got creative at Dough Disco, parents joined our Sing‑a-long, the library shared books on gratitude, the Sunshine Drawing Club helped students express their thanks through art, and everyone enjoyed healthy snacks to fuel strong bodies and minds. A wonderful celebration of our school community sharing movement, connection, and wellbeing.
WELLBEING WEDNESDAY: This morning’s Parent Sing-a-Along gave us a chance to warm up our voices and our souls. It was wonderful to share our good vibrations together and to learn about how music can connect us, energise us, and bring our community even closer.
Students participated in STEAM Day at HKUST. They engaged in lots of hands-on activities - from learning how to control a robot car, to making the fastest paper aeroplane. It was a great experience visiting the university and learning all about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths!
What a fabulous morning of netball today at the annual inter-school netball finals. Well done to both Glenealy teams who represented us today.
🌟 Year 6: Genius Hour! Students explore personal curiosities and interests by creating projects that educate and entertain. Excited to present their work to friends, peers, and other classes! 🎉
